The Knoepfler lab has formed a team to raise research funds to try to find new treatments and hopefully cures for kids facing a type of mostly fatal brain tumors. Here’s the team page. The way it works is that this great pediatric cancer foundation called Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, from whom I recently got a 2-year grant, will match all the money we raise dollar for dollar to give the funding a further boost. So for every $1 we raise, our lab’s Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation-supported children’s brain tumor research gets $2 more of support beyond the grant.
As part of the team, we simply indicate that we will walk, run, or bike (or some combo of the three) a certain number of miles by December 31. Participants can self-record mileage or you can do it via an App like Fitbit or others.
